フランスの１９世紀/ French antique stuff

お正月休みも終わり、今日から皆様は仕事始めでしょうか？

１月２日、仙台の病院から大崎市の自宅に戻る途中で
アウトレットモールがある通りを通って帰ってきました。
この通りは息子が入院してからなんども通いで通ったことのある道です。
週末になればそこそこ渋滞する広めの道路です。
そんな大きく広い道路ですが、２日は見たことも無いような大渋滞でした。
その原因となるのがアウトレットモールの初売りセール。
アウトレットモールの駐車場に入ろうとする車線が大渋滞、それは何キロも続いていました。
それを見て私は思いました。
「アウトレットってもともと安いものを売ってるところなのに、さらに安くしないとここまでの大渋滞って生まれないのかー。洋服の価値ってまだまだ低いなー。」
と。

Hello.
I witnessed a heavy traffic jam in 2nd January.
That day is date of new year sale at the outlet mall.
This road has the outlet mall.
I have never seen a traffic jam so far on that road.
I often use this road, so I was surprised.
And I thought.
"The value of clothes is still low. Clearance sale of outlet mall produces a desire to buy and creates a heavy traffic jam."


大量生産時代ももう終盤に来ていると思いますが、
それでもまだまだファッション業界のデフレは残っているんだなーと
実感しました。

Today's antique item.

このスモックはフランスの１９世紀中期頃に作られたと思われる
アンティークリネンのスモックです。
遠目から見ると、「ちょっと変わっているけど・・・。」レベルで、
そこまで付加価値付くようなデザイン性はなさそうに見えますが、
近くで見るとやばいです。

This smock was made in the mid 19th century in France, I think.
At first glance it is an ordinary antique linen smock,
but I noticed that it is very delicately beautiful.

こんな繊細で美しい装飾は見たことがありません。
この服の生地は厚みがある手織りリネンです。
なので、硬いです。そんな生地にここまでの細かいギャザーを寄せるなんて！！！
ただただ感動、ただただ賛美。

I have never seen such a delicate and beautiful decoration.
This fabric is thick because hand-woven linen.
So it is very hard, I can't believe that!!!
Just impressed, just praise.


初めてこれを見たとき
「東欧のものかなー」と聞いたら
「フランスのもの」と答えが返ってきた。
「１９世紀のものかなー」と聞いたら
「そうだよ」と来た。
「ナイトウェアなの？」と聞いたら
「日常着だよ、たぶんbiaudeみたいなもん」と来た。
「女性用」と聞いたら
「男性」ときた。

I asked the dealer,
"Is this Eastern European antique smock?"
"No, this is French antique."
"is this 19th century?"
"That's right."
"Is this night-wear?"
"I don't think so, I think day-wear looks like Biaude."
"For women?"
"For men. but small size. "


このスモックはフランスのものだが、イギリスのディーラーさんから買った。
私のつたない英語力ではここまでの情報しか引き出せなかった。

My poor English ability only got only this information.

ちょっとだけ汚れがありますが、生地の状態はよく、
まだまだ硬いと思えるほどなので、丈夫だろう。
これはすでに150年間保管されてこの状態なので、
今後１００年大事に着ても、着続けられるだろうと思う。
このスモックシャツは約４万円だが、2000円のシャツとは比べ物にならない
色々な「事柄」がこのシャツには詰まっている。

This smock has small stains but not markable.
Fabric is very good condition.
I think that you can continue wearing it for the next 100 years.
This smock shirt is around 400 USD, this one has a lot of of "things" that does not compare with 20 USD shirt.


私が出来ることは、私が出来る限りお客様にこのスモックシャツの
